About Food Design Innovation Challenge

I-PLAN Innovation Food Design Challenge is back with a topic “Innovation in Food Design”

I-PLAN challenge is a national scale competition in business innovation aims to increase food nutrition quality, especially for seafood and fresh water products. I-PLAN Challenge is conducted through a collaboration between Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and Ministry of Health, Ministry of Marine and Fisheries of Indonesia, Postharvest Network for Nutrition Indonesia, and supported by sub-national government. This event is organized by Innovation Factory.

We are looking for innovation in marketable food. The innovation shall be harnessed to ready to eat and ready to cook fish (fresh water and sea) and other seafood such as seaweed, clams, shrimp and squid. The innovative products are expected to contribute in reducing stunting and anemia, especially for pregnant mothers, breastfeeding mothers and children under two years and adolescents.

The Challenge

Innovation in food design to contribute in reducing stunting and anemia for Indonesian people, mainly addressing pregnant mothers, breastfeeding mothers and children under two years and adolescents. The criteria:

Highly nutritious and taste delicious.

Ingredient.
Primary local ingredient should be from fish (sea or fresh water), shrimp, squid, clams, seaweed.

Affordable.
The final consumer price should be affordable (compared to minimarket price of similar products) and can be easily accessed.

Packaging.
Attractive and informative which gives product information, nutrition facts, expiry date, how to cook/store.

Production.
Have potential for mass production.

Expected Participants

I-PLAN Food Design Innovation Challenge is long for 10 startup, institution, organization, association or Small and Medium Enterprise which have a new solution to help reducing stunting and anemia in Indonesia.

What will you get?

Total reward of Rp. 100 Million for 10 finalists on the pitching day.

Total reward of Rp. 75 Million for 5 selected winners on the pitching day.

Total grant of up to Rp. 1 Billion for 5 winners announced on the pitching day for use in further product development.

Exclusive mentoring for product development from Temasek Polytechnic Singapore and product placement for distribution in well-known retailers in Indonesia.
